Student & Educator Performance

RSVP for the FREE student and educator performance!

This free, event is reserved for current students and teachers for K-12 and Higher Education. If you have a non/student or educator accompanying you, please consider making a donation to cover their ticket cost, this can be done online or at the door. Our Student and Educator programming is under written by the Thornton Charity Foundation. Making a reservation does not guarantee a seat. Reserved seats will be released ten minutes prior to curtain. Please arrive to the performance early to ensure a seat.

RSVP POLICY: RSVP forms will be for each individual production and will become available 2 weeks before the student/educator performance.

the Minutes (rescheduled to: Thursday, March 27)

Due to a medical emergency in the cast and the need to fill a role with another actor this week, our student/educator performance of The Minutes originally scheduled for Friday, March 21 has been postponed.

The performance will now take place on Thursday, March 27, in combination with our Pay What You Can performance.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these temporary casting changes to ensure the safety and healthy recovery of our cast.

If you are able to attend the Thursday, March 27 performance, please RSVP here. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the show!

Student/Educator Night FAQs

  • When do the seat reservation forms open? When do they close?
      • Reservation forms open 2 weeks before the performance date. The forms close the day before the performance or when there are no remaining seats available, whichever comes first. Especially for etcetera shows (which have much lower seating capacity than Essential season shows), make your reservation as early as you can to ensure you get seats.
  • Some people in my party can no longer make it, what should I do?
      • If someone in your party or your entire party can no longer make it to the performance, please email sarah@openstage.com and let her know. This allows people on the waitlist to be given seats at the show, and maximizes our ability to provide affordable theatre to all!
  • What time should I arrive? When does the theatre begin seating?
      • Outdoor Summer Shows: Our outdoor shows begin at 7:00 PM, and check-in and seating begin at 6:30 PM.
      • All other shows: Unless otherwise specified on the event page, all Student/Educator and Pay-What-You-Can performances start at 7:30 PM, with check-in and seating typically beginning at 7:00 PM. We recommend arriving early to secure the best seats, but please note that check-in will not start before 7:00 PM. For some performances, the check-in and seating time may vary depending on the venue. Be sure to check your confirmation email in the week leading up to the event for any specific details regarding seating times.
  • Is it okay if I arrive slightly late?
      • If you are running late, keep in mind that reserved seats will be released to people on the waitlist and to walk-ups ten minutes prior to curtain. Please arrive at the performance early to ensure a seat. If possible, we will try to seat you when you arrive but if the show is at capacity, or if the show/venue does not allow for late seating then we cannot seat you.
  • I didn’t make a seat reservation, should I still come?
      • While we cannot guarantee you a seat, we do encourage you to still come. If seats are available, or reserved parties are no-shows we will be happy to offer you a seat.
  • It says that the performance is sold out/fully reserved, is there any way I might be able to get seats?
      • It’s possible! We recommend you email sarah@openstage.com to get on a seat waitlist. If people cancel or adjust their reservations, we will email you and offer you the open seat(s). Even if we can’t take you off the waitlist, it may still be worthwhile to come to the performance. We tend to have a high amount of no-shows and may be able to offer you a seat right before the show starts.
  • How do I donate to OpenStage at the performane?
      • At the check-in table for the show, there should be a labeled donation jar/bowl. There will also be a QR code on that jar that you can scan with your phone to donate online. You can also always visit our website to make a donation. Donate Here!
  • Do I have an assigned seat, or is it general admission?
      • All of our Student/Educator and Pay-What-You-Can performances are general admission. Seating is first-come first-serve, so arrive early to ensure you get the seats you’d like and that your party can sit together.
  • Somebody I would like to attend with me is not a student/educator. Is it okay if they come as well?
      • We are happy to have your friend tag along! We do ask that you consider making a donation for their ticket.
