There is a new menace sweeping the nation, ready to ensnare and seduce the youth and drag them down into a life of sin: Reefer Madness! Inspired by the 1936 propaganda film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids, Jimmy and Mary Lane, fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a delirious downward spiral filled with jazz music, sex and violence. Full of camp, hilarity, and mayhem—if you get high on laughter you have come to the right place

BRENNA FREESTONE-GILBERT was born and raised in Fort Collins and is happy to be back after a nearly ten-year hiatus while living in New York. Brenna made her directorial debut years ago with OpenStage etcetera’s production of Boy Gets Girl, followed by Limelight Theatre’s production of Brighton Beach Memoirs. She is best known for directing Bug – which left audiences squirming – as well as The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), which also left audiences squirming, but for totally different reasons; both productions were with OpenStage. Prior to leaving for New York, you might recognize on-stage Brenna from such productions as The Book of Liz (Sister Constance Butterworth/Yolanda Foxley/others), An Ideal Husband (Mrs. Chevely), Dead Man’s Cell Phone (Jean), and Noises Off (Poppy) all with OpenStage, as well as Marjorie in Extremities with OpenStage etcetera. Additional favorites include Kattrin in Mother Courage, Laura in The Glass Menagerie, and Estelle in No Exit with Bas Bleu Theatre. She is excited that her first dip back into Fort Collins theatre is directing The Revolutionists!
Stagehand
AMANDA FYOCK recently became re-involved in the stage performance world. Currently, she is a part of the No Picnic Rocky Horror shadow cast and enjoys being the occasional house manager at Bas Bleu Theatre. She is a structural drafter by day, but when she’s not sitting at a computer she is an aerialist, training and performing aerial sling, lyra, and other circus apparatuses for 5 years. She is involved in several board game communities and even dabbles in board game design. She is very excited to get involved with OpenStage.

STEVIE ROSE has been performing and working behind the scenes with OpenStage since 2021, with no signs of stopping! Stevie made their on stage debut with OpenStage in Treasure Island followed by Six Years Old, and can’t wait for more. They’re grateful for another opportunity to come back and support local art and artists!
