OpenStage Theatre & Company is seeking a part-time Administrative/Marketing Assistant to support the work of its Producing Artistic Director, Marketing & Operations Manager, and Development Manager. This position offers a hands-on introduction to nonprofit arts administration, with responsibilities spanning general admin tasks, social media content creation, marketing support, and event coordination. The Assistant will work closely with staff and production teams, gaining insight into the behind-the-scenes operations of a professional theatre company. While much of the work is remote and flexible, occasional on-site attendance at events and performances in Fort Collins, CO is required. This role is ideal for a current college student or recent graduate who is organized, creative, and able to work independently without close supervision.

Part-time (15-20 hours/week), Hybrid work
Start Date: May 2025
Pay Rate: $15.50/hour

Responsibilities

General Administration

  • Assist with data entry, filing, and general administrative tasks
  • Pick up and deliver mail, checks, posters, and other materials as needed
  • Help organize and allocate bills and mail checks as directed
  • Help manage RSVPs and check-in for community and Pay What You Can performances
  • Run off-site box office operations and ushering
  • Maintain donor database records (DonorPerfect)
  • Update and manage website content
  • Assist with season auditions by being the email contact and organizing audition tapes and info for directors to view. 

Marketing & Social Media

  • Assist with writing press releases, blogs, and marketing copy
  • Help brainstorm and create social media content, including TikToks and Reels
  • Attend rehearsals and performances to gather content
  • Create and review marketing emails and track performance metrics
  • Design basic graphics and digital assets (e.g., for social media/emails/ads)
  • Submit events to community calendars and manage Facebook events
  • Help compile content and organize assets for show programs

Audience Development & Events

  • Support planning and logistics for community performances and special events
  • Track and respond to inquiries from website contact forms
  • Assist with in-kind donations and community fundraising outreach
  • Research and reach out to schools for local engagement opportunities
  • Help with preparation and setup for fundraising events and the annual awards picnic

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with basic office tasks (data entry, organizing, errands)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative, flexible, and dependable
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Availability for some evening or weekend events. (Attending some rehearsals and working some box office events)
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting: manage time effectively, stay organized, follow through on tasks between check-ins, and proactively communicate questions or concerns as they arise

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Canva, basic graphic design, or video editing (Capcut or similar tools)
  • Familiarity with social media content creation (e.g., Reels, TikToks)
  • Experience with social media aggregator sites (We use Buffer)
  • Experience with email marketing sites and/or donor databases (We use Constant Contact and DonorPerfect)
  • Previous work/volunteer experience/interest in theatre, nonprofits, or community organizations
