After working with OpenStage as a Stagehand/Dresser for The 39 Steps, Azran is joining us again as the Assistant Stage Manager for The Minutes!

Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into theatre?

I grew up doing theatre in Fort Collins with Debut Theatre Company. They cultivated my love of both acting and the technical side of theatre, and encouraged me to pursue it beyond high school. I ended up studying theatre at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City for two years and I’ve learned so much!

What makes The Minutes a unique kind of play to work on?

The Minutes is such a unique play to work on because it’s so layered. The more time you spend with it, the more things come to light and the more there is to unpack. I feel like I’m constantly learning and discovering more with every run through.

What do you like to do in your free time, when you’re not working on theatre projects?

When I’m not working on theatre, I’m usually spending time with friends and going on little adventures. I love to travel, both locally and abroad, and I love learning foreign languages (right now I’m focusing primarily on Spanish and French).

Newcomer Mr. Peel has some questions… What is “Lincoln Smackdown”? And where is council member Mr. Carp? This razor-sharp comedy by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of August: Osage County, exposes the underbelly of civic duty in a small town…with BIG secrets.
