bio WENDY S. MOORE has been directing for over thirty-six years. She retired in June 2005 as a high school principal and has been working since as a freelance director and actress throughout Colorado. Wendy directed OpenStage Theatre's productions of Pride and Prejudice, Man of la Mancha and The Exonerated. Is He Dead? marks her thirty-first show since retirement. Recent directing credits include A Walk in the Woods and The Cripple of Inishmaan (Colorado Mountain College Spring Valley); Tuesdays with Morrie and Bully! (Backstage Theatre); Third and Lend Me a Tenor (Lake Dillon Theatre Company); Santaland Diaries (Vintage Theatre); Summertree (Miners Alley Playhouse); A Year with Frog and Toad (Evergreen Players), The Wizard of Oz (Backstage to Broadway), Our Town (DBS Productions), The Laramie Project (Aspen Stage/Colorado Mountain College), The Near Sighted Knight and the Far Sighted Dragon (Theatre Aspen) and Pippin (Aspen Community Theatre). Wendy recently appeared as Charlotte in Moon over Buffalo, Julia in Lend Me a Tenor, Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret and Mae in The Oldest Profession (Lake Dillon Theatre Company); Ouiser in Steel Magnolias (Backstage Theatre); Aida in Over the River and Through the Woods (Miners Alley Playhouse); and It's a Wonderful Life (Theatre Aspen). She served as President of the Carbondale Rotary Club in 2006-2007 and was the longtime President of Colorado Community Theatre Coalition. Wendy has received Best Director Awards seven times at the Colorado Theatre Festival and twice at the America Community Theatre Region VII competition. She was the Artistic Director of Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge for nine years, as well as the Resident Director of the Goldenrod Showboat in St. Louis. Upcoming projects include portraying Ethel Thayer in On Golden Pond at Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge. |
