bio
ANN WHITEMAN is a graduate of theater arts from Northwestern University and has played in regional theaters primarily in Virginia and the Pacific Northwest. Favorite Shakespearean roles include Kate, Beatrice, Phoebe, Titania and "Prospera" She was chosen Favorite Actress by Spokane Theater Critics for her performances as Maria Callas in Master Class, Emma in Over the River and through the Woods, Katherine in  A Perfect Ganesh and  Kate in Dancing at Lughnasa. Directing credits include four seasons for Spokane Civic Theatre's  Playwrights’ Forum Festival, As Bees In Honey Drown and a commedia-styled The Hypochondriac. A writer of four pieces for the stage (A Reduced Christmas Carol), and a dialect coach, acting remains the passion (favorite character: Molly Sweeney). Recently relocated to her native state of Colorado, Ann has been in two Readers' Theatre productions this season at Bas Bleu Theatre and in a debut performance for the Arvada Center as Rebecca Nurse in The Crucible. Pride and Prejudice marks her debut performance with OpenStage Theatre.
